About me

A violinist Yanini Pongpakatien started her musical journey by taking violin lessons with Maren Tancke. She then went to study at Aum-Aree Music School with Juris Madrevich. She graduated high school from Pre-college of Music, Mahidol University in 2015. In the same year she went to study bachelor degree at Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music by taking violin lessons with Ajarn Pisoot Saay-op-oua, Ajarn Sittichai Pengcharoen, and Ajarn Margaret Hayne Kim. She is currently pursuing her master degree at Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music, Bangkok (PGVIM).

 

In 2015, she entered in the Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music Ensemble Competition (PGVIEC) in the category of Large Ensemble under the name of Salaya Chamber Orchestra and won the 1st prize. She was also selected as a representative of Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music to perform in Lübeck Musikhochschule at Lübeck, Germany.

Yanini has played in the first violin section of the Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music Youth Orchestra for several seasons. In 2018, she was invited to perform in the 22nd International Bellapais Music Festival in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

 

She has opportunities to study the several artistic ways of communicating sound or activities. Yanini takes a special interest in studying the process of sound making, collaboration and interdisciplinary projects. She likes to communicate her vision in a non-verbal way, through video collage projects, documentary or sound composing.
